After Aishwarya Rai had stupendous success being paired with Rajinikanth in Enthiran (Robot), it is every Bollywood girl’s dream to work with the south superstar. Rana has Rajini in a triple role and is directed by K.S. Ravikumar. Considering Rajini’s pan-Asian market, the makers are looking out for an actress who has a national presence. The initial buzz was that slender, leggy Deepika Padukone was the lead contender and that she would adjust her dates to work in the film.
Now, it is reliably learnt that Asin, who had worked with Ravikumar in Varalaru, has been approached and even a one-line summary of the script has been narrated to her. Sources add that Asin, who made a comeback in Tamil with Vijay in Kaavalan, is also keen to team up with the superstar, provided the script fascinates her. The movie has A.R. Rahman composing the tracks.
Meanwhile, back in Mumbai, Asin has signed Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 2 with Akshay Kumar. The southern beauty is also holding discussions with King Khan for the film 2 States. Reportedly, Asin will be starring opposite Shah Rukh in the adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel. SRK is co-producing the film and is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Asin could not be contacted as she is shooting in Bangkok with Salman Khan for her upcoming film Ready.
