Karan Johar was born on 25 May 1972 in Mumbai. They is the son of late Yash Johar. They studied in the Greenlawns High School and went to H. R. College in Mumbai. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was a great love story about elderly college friends who meet each other again in life in changed circumstances. The film also stars Rani Mukerji, Anupam Kher, and Salman Khan and actress Neelam in special appearance.

The film surpassed its expectations. The songs were amazing, the cinematography awesome. The sets were attractive and Farah Khan's choreography was magnificent. Karan Johar made the most impressive debut ever as a director. The film swept Filmfare Awards as seldom before. The film also re united the team of Kajol and Shahrukh Khan. His second film again had lots of expectations. Kabhi Khushi kabhi Gam was to be a film which will give the audience a chance to float through emotions of happiness and sorrow. The starcast was so heavy and the promos so nice that tremendous excitement built up before the release of the film. The film did live upto its expectations. All the top film stars of bollywood acted in the film including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Kajol, Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Johnny Lever and more.
