Akshay Kumar wants to buy an IPL team
Akshay Kumar has placed all his hopes on “Thank You” after his recent films failed miserably at the box office. The actor has not been able to churn out a hit film since a long time. Barring Housefull and De Dana Dan, Tashan, Jumbo, 8 x 10 Tasveer, Kambakkht Ishq, Chandni Chowk To China, Blue, Khatta Meetha, Action Replayy, Tees Maar Khan all failed to click with his fans.
At the premiere of “Thank You” yesterday when the actor was asked if he would consider buying an IPL team in near future, the actor said, “First let ‘Thank You’ do well. If it does, I will consider buying an IPL team”.
The actor was joking but we are told the actor did bid for an IPL team last year along with director Priyadarshan but fell short of acquiring a team. The actor was also the ambassador for the IPL Delhi team in one of the past seasons of the tournament.
Suniel Shetty who happens to be Akshay’s co-star in “Thank You” too added, “I will buy stakes in that IPL team which Akshay Kumar will buy if our film Thank You does well”.
Now lets hopeAkshay Kumar gets an opportunity to thank his fans for a change on Friday 8 April, when his film ‘Thank You’ hits theatres.
